Today I have a little mixed media goodness using the beautiful Chou & Flowers Envelope stamp along with some fun AALL & Create dies.
I started my project with a leftover piece of patterned paper from my stash and added some color and shimmer with Lindy’s Gang Steampunk Soirée Shimmer Spray. I love how this instantly gave the background more depth and a slightly aged look.
Next, I stamped the Chou & Flowers Envelope onto watercolor paper and white heat embossed it. I used some leftover paint that was sitting on my table to color up the envelope, which gave it a soft and artsy look. I always love when little leftover bits from previous projects find their way into a new make.
For extra texture, I used the AALL & Create Layers of Air die to cut into both my background and a piece of black cardstock. I love the worn folder look this die creates and how it adds such great detail to the project.
I also had some leftover deli paper from cleaning off my brayer during a gel print session, so I ran it through my die cut machine using the foliage dies included in the AALL & Create set. The color on the paper was perfect for adding some extra layered interest.
Before placing my die cut pieces, I added a little white gesso behind the area where I wanted everything to sit. This helped the layers stand out from the background. I then placed my watercolored envelope on top and finished the project with sentiments from the Lavinia Uplifting Collection.
I love how this project came together using leftover papers, paint, and gel print scraps. It is always fun to see how those extra pieces can turn into something beautiful.
