Hello gang! I hope things are staring to look more like Spring where you are located. I’m here in Texas, so we had a couple days of Spring but now it seems like we might be heading into a hot summer.
Today, I was inspired by Nuneka and her Instagram Live when she created a gorgeous tag using Distress Glaze with a stencil. I decided to try this “new to me” technique with an AALL & Create Rainbow Lane Stencil and the Lindy’s Gang Starburst Sprays in Hottie Patottie Hot Pink and TiffanyLou’s Blue.
Process:
1. Die cut some Bristol Smooth paper. I used the AALL & Create Skycrossed Paradise die. Pick a stencil and use it with a blending tool to apply the Distress Glaze. The Distress Glaze is acts as a resist and will resist color. I used the AALL & Create Rainbow Lane stencil for my project.
2. Select some Starburst Shimmer Sprays to cover your background as much or as little as you like. I used the Hottie Patottie Hot Pink and TiffanyLou’s Blue. Set the background aside to dry. As a side note – you can add a thicker layer of Distress Glaze to get a bigger resist.
3. Optional – Once your background is dry, you can add some stamping. I added some fun marks from the AALL & Create Visual Dreams set in Versamark Clair inks in Twilight, Charming Pink, and Warm Breeze. I also splattered some Afternoon Delight Denim Shimmer Spray on my background for a dark contract to my bright background.
4. I added some additional die pieces included in the die set and heat embossed some of them with Hyacinth Blue Jade and Hydrangea Blue Mauve. I also used some papers leftovers I had in my stash from past Lindy’s projects and die cut them to include in my background.
5. I finished my page my adding this fun sentiment from the AALL & Create Bite Me Die Cuts and attaching my background to a black die cut included in the set.
