Love is in the Air

It is February 15th and time for another fun A Blog Named Hero Challenge. This month’s theme is a Love is in the Air using the color pallet below.

Here is my card using these colors. I must admit I didn’t have any Hero Arts “Love” sentiments so instead a “Thanks” which will be a thank you for your love and support card.

I started off stamping the Peonies on some watercolor paper and white heat embossing them. I stamped the main flower first and then masked it off to stamp the flowers behind it.

I then selected similar colors in my Altenew Watercolor set that I thought matched the color scheme of the challenge. For the main flower I used a combination of Cotton Candy and Coral Berry with a little Pink Diamond. The flowers in the background are painted with Purple Wine and Cosmic Berry and the for the leaves I used Pink Diamond with Midnight Violet.

After I was done watercoloring the images, I decided to use a little gold spray, which I regret now since it came out as a lot. Lesson learned on that one, I should have used a brush to splatter it on instead. I used a small piece of Kraft paper for the sentiment and white heat embossed that and added some clear sequins to finish my card.
